Parables Of The Humbling Doorway;
Householder And Wicked Farmers;
And Wedding Feast And Robe

Parable Of The Humbling Doorway
And then He spoke a parable to them, and said, “A man once made a feast inviting all the rich and honoured people of the land. But when they came, they found the door into the banquet hall was low, and they could not enter, except they bowed their heads and fell down on their knees. These people would not bow their heads and fall down on their knees, and so they went away; they did not go to the feast.

And then the man sent forth his messengers to bid the common folks, and those of low estate, to come and feast with him. These people gladly came; they bowed their heads and fell down on their knees, and came into the banquet hall and it was full, and every one rejoiced.”

And then the Master said, “Behold, you priests and Scribes, and Pharisees, the Lord of heaven and earth has spread a luxurious feast, and you were bidden first of all. But you have found the door into the banquet hall so low that you must bow your heads and fall down on your knees to enter in, and you have scorned the king who made the feast, refused to bow your heads and fall down on your knees, and you have gone your way. But now God calls again; the common folks and those of low estate have come in multitudes, and have entered into the feast and all rejoice.

“I tell you, men, that publicans and harlots go through the gates into the kingdom of the God of heaven, and you are left outside. John came to you in righteousness; he brought the truth, but you did not believed him. But publicans and harlots believed, and were baptized and now have entered into the feast. I tell you now, as I have told you many times, many are called, but few are chosen.”

The Parable Of The Householder And Wicked Farmers
The multitudes would hear what Jesus had to say, and so they built a platform in the temple court, and Jesus stood upon the place and taught. He spoke in parables and said, “A man possessed a vast estate. He planted a vineyard, placed a hedge round it, built a tower and installed the press for making wine.
He placed his vineyard in the hands of husbandmen and then he journeyed to a distant land. Now, in the vintage time, the man sent forth a servant to receive and bring to him his portion of the fruitage of the vines. The husbandmen came forth and beat the man; laid forty lashes on his back and cast him out of the vineyard gate.

And then the owner sent another man to bring to him his own portion. The husbandmen laid hold of him and sorely wounded him, and cast him out from the vineyard, leaving him half dead beside the way. The owner sent another man to bring to him his own. The husbandmen seized hold of him and with a javelin they pierced his heart; then buried him beyond the hedge.

“The owner was aggrieved. He thought within himself, ‘What shall I do?’ and then he said, ‘This will I do. My only son is here, and I will send him to the husbandmen. They will surely respect my son and send me what is mine.’
He sent his son, but the husbandmen took counsel with themselves. They said, ‘This is the only heir to all this wealth, and if we take his life, the vast inheritance is ours.’ They killed the son and threw his corpse beyond the vineyard hedge.

The days will come, the owner will return to reckon with the husbandmen, and he will seize every one of them, and cast them into scorching fires, where they shall stay until they pay the debts they owe. And he will place his vineyard in the care of honest men.”

Then turning to the priests and Scribes He said, “Did not your prophets say, ‘The stone which the builders cast away has become the cornerstone of the house?
You men who pose as men of God, as husbandmen, behold, you have stoned and killed the messengers of God, His prophets and His seers, and now you seek to slay His son.

I tell you men, the kingdom shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to people who are not a people now, and to a nation that is not a nation now. And men whose speech you cannot understand, will stand between the living and the dead, and show the way to life.”

The chief priests and the Pharisees were deeply moved with anger when they heard this parable and would have seized the Lord and done Him harm, but they were sore afraid; they feared the multitude.

Parable Of The Wedding Feast And Robe

And Jesus spoke another parable and said, “The kingdom is like a certain king who made a feast in honour of the marriage of his son. He sent his servants forth to call the people who had been invited to the feast. The servants called; but then the people would not come. And then the king sent other messengers abroad to say, ‘Behold, my tables now are spread; my oxen and my fatlings are prepared. The choicest viands and the richest wines are on my boards (are mine); come to the marriage feast.’

The people laughed and treated with disdain his call, and went their way, one to his farm, another to his merchandise. And others seized the servants of the king; abused them shamefully; and some of them they killed. Therefore, the king sent forth his soldiers who slew the murderers and burned their towns.

 And then the king sent other servants forth; to them he said, ‘Go to the corners of the streets, the partings of the ways, and to the markets of trade and say, Whoever will may come up to the marriage feast.’ The servants went their way and called; and behold, the banquet hall was filled with guests.

But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man who was not wearing a wedding robe. The king called to him and said, “Friend, why are you here without a wedding robe? Would you dishonour my son in this way?”
The man was dumb; he answered not. And then the king said to his guards, ‘Take you this man and bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the darkness of the night. Many have been called, but none shall be allowed in as guests, except those wearing the wedding robes.’ ”

Explanations

The invited guests gave various reasons and did not come to the wedding feast. They are all the people, who are now giving all kinds of reasons and excuses for not doing what God said. They include all the Christians, who have abandoned the everlasting paths of righteousness and Covenant System Of Worship, and are attending various man-made religions, churches, ministries and fellowships, and they say that the Old Testament is no longer necessary. All their reasons and excuses are what heaven calls irrelevant excuses.

When you tell them what God said, they give the following reasons and excuses:

1.     “That is not what God said.”

2.     “That is not true.”

3.     “That is not the way our church do pray and worship.”

4.     “That is Old Testament teachings and laws. They are no longer relevant.”

5.     “The laws of Moses. It was Moses who gave the laws.”

6.     “You can worship on any day of the week.”

7.     “God looks at the heart, and not on your attendance to Sabbath prayers and worship.”

8.     “Just believe and you shall be saved.”

9.     “I am born again.”

10.                        Etc.

The man who was not wearing a wedding robe refers to all the children of God, who refuse to wear the white garments during prayers and worship here on earth. Humanity were sent to the world to learn how to live in heaven. Only those who do the will of God here on earth shall be allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Also, the man refers to all the disobedient people, who do things the way they like, without doing the will of God. They are all the members of the various religions, churches, ministries and fellowships, who are living and worshipping in various ways, as themselves deem fit, but have abandoned the paths of righteousness and Covenant System Of Worship. They shall have themselves to blame, because they exclude themselves from the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who are excluded exclude themselves.
